Weekend Outings

Drew got brave on Saturday and decided it was time for the first father/son outing on their own! He took Grayson with him to a feed store in Justin to pick up some special fertilizer for our weed-overtaken backyard. Grayson did great and they even stopped at another feed store in Haslet to pick up some fill-dirt and Grayson got to see some baby chicks they had there! Way to go Dad!!!
That afternoon, it was a gorgeous day outside, so we went to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. We thought we would snap some great shots of Grayson with the beautiful flowers, but he just wasn't in the mood. Thanks to Drew's mad photography skills, we still ended up with a couple of cute ones (no thanks to Grumpalumpagus!).

Gary Chapman Weekend

A couple of weekends ago, we went to College Station...again! We had so much fun attending a marriage seminar on Saturday by Gary Chapman, the man that writes the 5 Love Languages books. Grayson even had his very own on-site babysitter...Mimi of course!! She loved getting to hold him while he napped and feeding him apples out of the new (to us) handy squeeze packets and genius spoon attachment. The little man did great and blessed Drew and I with some great time at the seminar. Thanks Mom and Dad for our tickets, for encouraging us and Trey and Katie to go, and for being Grayson's babysitters!! Here are a few pictures snapped of the G-man from the weekend:
Playing on the couch with his taggie blanket
Splish splash, he was taking a bath...in his blow up duck bath at Mimi and Raydad's house, of course!
He loved it!! (It even quacks when you squeeze it's beak!)

A "Swinging Success"

Just for laughs, here is a funny picture of Grayson lounging in the bathtub doing some serious reading!
Just to make sure I wasn't dreaming the first time I put Grayson in the swing and he actually loved it, I decided to take him out to the park again to give it another go. He LOVED it! Yayyyy! Made this Mommy so happy!! I guess I was just not being very bright when placing him in the swing and as long as I didn't slump him into the back of the swing and placed him instead with his arms over the front, he was a happy camper! Enjoy the barrage of pictures of the progression of Grayson's "swinging success!"

The Swing

On Monday, last week, I went to a playdate with some other ladies from church and their kids. We met at the park and I decided to try Grayson out on the bucket swings for the first time! HE LOVED IT! He was laughing and smiling and it was just precious! I couldn't wait for Drew to get home from work that day so I could take him and Grayson to a nearby park to show him Grayson's new trick! This is what happened...
"I don't think this was how you put me in the swing last time, Mom..."
"I'll try to have fun, but I'm all slumped back in this thing!"
"Yeah, nope! This just isn't fun!"
"Get me out of this thing!"

I kept telling Drew, "I PROMISE he was loving it last time!" Bummer. Instead, we walked toward the pond and had fun looking at the fountain.
Sweet boys!

April Adventures

Our April Adventures include:
Going to Starbucks and Children's Place multiple times with  my former roommate, Sarah Kenyon and her sweet baby Kennedy!
Waiting for Dad to come home on the swing.
Going to the library for story time every Tuesday morning with his best bud, Beckett Boy.
Keeping it classy with his shirt during our routine Friday morning walk in the park with some other mom friends of mine and their babies!
So excited on a walk with Dad! (Loving those fingers!)

I mean...this picture really does no justice to the precious turtle hat he is wearing! Note to self, take a cute picture of turtle hat so that all can appreciate it as much as I do!

Easter and Birthday Party Time!

On Easter weekend, Drew took off Friday (can you believe they don't just GIVE him Good Friday off?!). So, we loaded up the car on Thursday as soon as he got home from work and headed to College Station! We got in pretty late, so we went on to bed and enjoyed a leisurely morning there before the rest of our weekend began. Drew and Dad even snuck in a little bit of driving range time at the Country Club and when they came back, Grayson got his first golf cart ride!
We met up with Ken, Diane, Josh, and Kellye at the HEB in College Station and Josh and Kellye rode with us while we followed Ken and Diane to Houston to stay the rest of the weekend with Jared and Sam, Nathan, Aubrey, and Lexi. Saturday, the men went to play golf together while the ladies and kiddos went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast and went to Target to help Kellye register for her baby registry and so Diane could go broke while buying all of us big boxes of diapers and wipes and toys for all of the kids. That afternoon, the rest of Sam's side of the family came over for Nathan and Aubrey's birthday party. It was Grayson's first Easter Egg Hunt! We had a great time and pooped out early that night out of exhaustion...we're old with babies, ok?!
Sunday morning everybody headed out and we went straight to College Station to go to church with my parents, grandparents, and Trey and Katie. After church we all went to the INCREDIBLE Easter brunch at the Pebble Creek Country Club. What a fabulous weekend!
Haha! I just had to add this one because of my Grandmother's expression toward Grayson!
