We literally watched Grayson sleep in his pack n' play in the middle of their living room! Haha! Mimi got him tons of new toys since I had mentioned that he was just starting to be interested in toys for the first time and it was so fun to see him reach out toward the toys for the first time at their house and hold on to them for a while. Mimi liked to play a game with him where she would hold out a million toys and ask him which one he wanted and we all watched him decide and reach for the one he wanted (or was he haphazardly reaching out for whatever toy his hand ended up touching? Hmmm?!). Mimi and Raydad had a great time showing Grayson off at church on Sunday morning to all of their friends. We enjoyed lots of great food while we were there: Double Daves pizza rolls, steak (me) and chicken fried steak (Drew) from the country club to go so we could eat at the house with Trey and Mom and Dad, and barbecue from C&J's with my family and my grandparents after church before we left to head back home Sunday afternoon.
We got back to DFW just in time to watch the Super Bowl with Drew's family. Aunt Kellye loved on Grayson and he got lots of good sweet time in with Didi and Zip too!
Next weekend Jared, Sam, Nathan, Aubrey, and Lexi came into town for a chocolate 5K run in Dallas. As always, we had a blast hanging out with them and the kiddos! Mimi had mailed Grayson some new Valentine's outfits complete with hats! Mom said that I need to start getting Grayson used to wearing hats so that by the time he can start pulling them off he will already be used to wearing them and won't mind them. Here are the sweet outfits he sported over the weekend:
On Tuesday, Drew and I got to go out on a DATE! For Valentine's Day I made Drew and me a fun heart-shaped pasta dinner with Parma Rosa sauce, garlic bread, sparkling raspberry cider, and chocolate covered strawberries! Drew brought home flowers and Godiva chocolates!! He spoils me. After dinner, we drove over to leave Grayson with Didi so Drew and I could go see a MOVIE! This is a big deal people!! We haven't been out to see a movie since way before he was born! We saw the romantic The Vow movie. We were a little early so we enjoyed a rousing game of pinball before we went in to grab our seats and let's just say I beat Drew pretty badly! We had a wonderful time on our date and the sweetest part was how excited we were to go back to pick up our baby.
Hope your February has been fabulous too!
